I would like to start by saying that
Cindy Chandler is going to be
charged with 14 counts of animal neglect.
From what I was told
had we left the dogs there she would
have only been able to be
charged with one count of animal neglect
but since we took the
dogs she will be charged with 14. She
can receive 1 year in jail
per count and a $5000 fine per count.
I woud like to give the true facts
of all of this, since there have
been some people claiming to know the
facts that don't.
Here are the facts: I was advised by
the prosecuter not to speak
about this to anyone so that there
was no chance of me being miss
quoted by anyone so that things couldnt
be disputed when this
hopefully went to trial. So that is
what I did, I kept my mouth shut.
But it seems that in the absence of
me not speaking about it some
people have decided to make up their
own version of the facts.
We still have 9 of the dogs that were
RESCUED from the Chandlers
at our house. They are all doing well
and will be released into loving,
life long homes when we are able to
release them (We are not allowed
to release them due to laws) Any potential
homes will be investigated
by us. Foster homes are not needed,
any and all of the dogs are more
than welcome to stay with us until
the right home comes along. The
only dogs that have been placed are
the 2 cavaliers and 2 of the
afghans, they all went back to there
co-owners.
As for monies, the only money I have
recieved is from private donations
from the generous people who have sent
it directly to me, for which I can
not thank these people enough. We also
Thank Purina for all the stuff that
they have sent for these dogs. I have
not taken or recieved any money from
the Afghan Hound Club of America Rescue
nor have I spoken to anyone
from there.
The money that I have received has gone
into a special account that I opened
just for this purpose, and this money
will be used for the care and maintance
of the Chandlers dogs only. When all
the dogs are placed and all of the bills
including the vets bills are paid the
account will be closed and any left over
funds will be donated to another fund
in the name of the rescued dogs. I have
not asked for any of the thousands
of dollars that I have lost by not working
for the last 3 weeks, nor will I. The
only thing I am trying to have covered
are the bills for the dogs.
As for Cindy paying the vet bills, there
were 5 paintings that were delievered
here and they will be sold to help
pay these bills, which are quite large. And
not all of the vet work has been done
yet because the dogs not strong enough
or in good enough health for the dentals
that are very badly needed and they
cannot be placed with out this being
done.
Again, I would like to thank all the
wonderful people, and Purina for sending
donations. With our your help none
of this would have been possible.
We will forever be greatful.
Thank you
