Western Hound Association
of Southern California (AKA; The Hound Classic) is pleased to offer at both
the Saturday and Sunday shows, two Hound Group Sweepstakes. A Sighthound Group and
a Scenthound Group with placements First thru Fourth in each of the groups. All currently
recognized AKC Miscellaneous hound breeds will be eligible to compete in the Sweepstakes
Groups. The Sight and Scent Group First winners will then compete for Best Hound
In Sweepstakes. The judges for each group will be selected based on their backgrounds
in Hounds.

Approximately 20 minutes to the show
grounds, depending on traffic. Airport shuttle is available 5:30 am
10:45 pm from Orange County John Wayne Airport only. Make reservations
ASAP rooms will go fast. A block of rooms have been set-aside. When
making reservations, refer to Western Hound (Dog Show) for special rate
of $109.00 per night. No dog deposit. After March 30, 2024, the rates will
NOT be guaranteed at the group rate. Complementary Bright-Side Breakfast
6AM to 9AM. Rooms are available on the first floor
and offered on a NO EXCEPTIONS
HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS ***********
Please keep dogs crated
while in the hotel rooms. EXHIBITORS ARE RESPONSIBLE for cleanup around
the hotel and motel and surrounding areas. The LaQuinta Hotel
has complained that exhibitors are NOT picking up after
their dogs.
PLEASE READ IMPORTANT:
Any hotel or motel listed in the premium lists is subject to AKC EVENT COMMITTEE
RULES. We expect exhibitors- spectators to be responsible guests
in a respectful manner. A report that an exhibitor-spectator that has abused
hotel and motel property or "VERBALLY ABUSED EMPLOYEES" during
this weekend may result in EVENT COMMITTEE (AKC) DISCIPLINARY
ACTION. Western Hound Associations of Southern California,
Inc., and all AKC Licensed dog clubs reserve the right to decline future
entries from the offending party in accordance with provisions of Chapter
11, Section 15 of the AKC Rules of Applying to Dog Shows.
